Profile
| Cardig Express Nusantara Cardig Express Nusantara (CEN) is a private freight forwarding company, owned 100% by Cardig International Group, focusing on the lucrative transportation and logistics businesses. Established in 1973, Cardig International Group handled warehousing business to support flight activities at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta. Two decades later, in compliance with the Minister of Transportation decree no. 087/1990 - which stipulated transportation handling services to be separated from flight activities and its supporting services - on 9 April 1993, Cardig Express Nusantara was born. Since then, CEN has grown to become one of the biggest players in Indonesia's freight forwarding industry. A brief history behind the CEN Kurir Indonesia name Previously, CEN was both a freight forwarding and a domestic and international courier company owned by Cardig International. In 2004, Cardig International became a PMA (foreign investment company) but according to local law, foreign investment companies could not own a courier company in Indonesia. Based on this law, the decision was taken for CEN to separate its forwarding business from its courier business. The courier business was subsequently sold to local parties but since most of our valuable customers has already become so accustomed to the CARDIG name, the new owners still wanted this name to be used. Thus, in order to differentiate between the two companies, Cardig Express Nusantara (CEN) would still be used for its forwarding business and CEN Kurir Indonesia (CKI) - established on 4 February 2004 at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta Timur - for its courier business. As mentioned earlier, Cardig International Group is a holding company for several transportation and logistics businesses. It has 10 subsidiary companies such as Gotrans Interna Express (trucking and forwarding business mainly serving Panasonic Gobel), UPS Cardig International (joint venture between UPS and Cardig International), Cardig Air (cargo freighter), Cardig Express Nusantara (freight forwarding business), Mandala Airlines (the best and the most reliable local private airline), JAS Airport Services (local private airport ground handling business, a joint venture with SIA of Singapore), JAS Catering (local private international in-flight catering business), JAS Engineering (a local private light aircraft maintenance, a joint venture between Cardig International and SIAEC of Singapore), Purantara Mitra Angkasa Dua (local private domestic in-flight catering, a joint venture between Cardig International and Angkasa Pura II), Pangansari Utama (local private catering for mining company, mainly serving Freeport McMoran mining company of Papua). |
